Twilight star Robert Pattinson says he was “annoyed” by critics of the Twilight sequel, New Moon, and that the film was treated unfairly. Why? Twilight backlash, of course, not because the movie was actually a sack of plop or anything.

“I didn’t like the way New Moon was treated by the critics. I think it was reviewed in the context of just being a big franchise movie,” says Pattinson. “When something is so hyped, inevitably, there is a backlash against it. I think Chris Weitz is an amazing director. I really enjoyed the film. So the naysayers kind of annoyed me.”

Yeah? I’m annoyed by actors (and directors) who brazenly toss aside valid criticism simply because they don’t like it. Sure, some members of the movie press corp (especially online) may have given the tween-teen series a hard time because of the hype and unending Teen Vogue specials (I read it for the articles), but many called the film like they saw it. Poop.

Pattinson also told Parade that he has a secret trick when it comes to taking on hordes of vicious girls who are out to rip his limbs off out of  rational love.

“My trick is not to see them as a crowd. If you break down every crowd into individuals, then it’s more manageable,” says Mr. Kristen Stewart. “It’s just when you start seeing these huge masses of people screaming at you that you start going crazy. So I try to focus on a few faces and not the mass.”

Pattinson’s upcoming drama, Remember Me, hits theaters on March 12.

    Yeah?

I’m annoyed by writers who brazenly don't bother submit their gossip blurb to a proofreader.

'New Moon' may very well be 'poop' but your sloppy attitude toward your work definitely stinks to high heaven.

They're based on crappy books (books with no plot or character development qualify as crappy) and SMeyer has the last word on everything that's included, so any chance that the movies would transcend the books are nullified because the woman can't write. Treating her like an oracle only makes matters worse for the scripts.

Chris Weitz's saying that people who don't like his version of New Moon "don't get it" sound like the thirteen-year-old Twitards who say that to anybody who has honest, thoughtful criticism of the books. What's to get? The books are shallow and NOTHING HAPPENS. Personally, I liked Weitz's color palette and the production values were better than in the first film (what a difference $25 million makes), but it didn't have the heart or sincerity of the first film. The principals, with the exception of Taylor Lautener, felt like they were sleepwalking through their roles; all the Cullens get to do is stand around and recite one line apiece.

As much fun as it is to irritate Twitards about what a failfest the books and now the movies are, I will probably not go see Eclipse. I can find so much better ways to fill two hours of my time.
