Julia Roberts has been a Hollywood A-Lister since Pretty Woman. She’s paid a lot of dough, but applying an hourly rate to the actress still shocked my meager earnings to the core.
Roberts is just one of the stars of the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day. When I write “stars,” I really just mean “a really short appearance and if you blink you’ll miss it.” The one with The Smile, Roberts is in the movie for 6 minutes and STILL got a payday of $3 million.
HOLY JESTER OF CRAP.
New Line paid Roberts $3 million against 3% of the gross. That’s $8,333 per second of screen time or $500,000 a minute. $11,962 per word! Is she worth it?
