Tim Robbins is in ‘Green Lantern’

Tim Robbins Joins His First Superhero Flick Since ‘Howard the Duck’

I might be in the minority here, but I think Tim Robbins is one of the most boring actors on the face of the planet. He transcends that “everyman” relatable territory in just about every role I’ve seen him in, and crosses into that “you’re just like my uncle Ted, so why did I pay 8 bucks to watch you?” territory.

None of that stopped Casino Royale director Martin Campbell from hiring Robbins for his Green Lantern superhero flick, which he will start shooting next month in New Orleans for Warner Bros.

Robbins will play Senator Hammond, “the disapproving father of the movie’s villain, Dr. Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), who becomes infused with psychic powers.” While I’m completely unfamiliar with the Green Lantern in comic form, all I really care about is that he’ll be played by Ryan Reynolds in the adaptation.

Campbell is an exceptionally talented action director, so I’m still looking forward to this movie like gangbusters.
