Former ‘Terminator’ Gal Linda Hamilton Roots For ‘Hurt Locker’ Over ‘Avatar’

Terminator stars doesn’t pull for james Cameron at Oscars

Linda Hamilton recently revealed that she would like to see Kathryn Bigelow win Best Director over James Cameron at this year’s Oscars for her film The Hurt Locker.

Hamilton, who starred in Cameron’s The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day, is, like Bigelow, a Cameron ex-wife.

“I’m rooting for the ex-wives here – ex-wives club!” says Hamilton. She also added that Bigelow should win the Academy Award based on her work, not because she would become the first woman to win Best Director.

“I would hate to receive an award because I’m the first woman. I would hate for that to be a sentimental thing, because it was time a woman won. I’m sure Kathryn would say the same.”

The 53-year-old added that when she read the script for Avatar, she wasn’t blown away.

“I got completely subsumed [by Avatar] and that’s a statement about how good the film is,” she said. “I had read that script while we were married and it was one of three or four projects… There were quite a few things he wanted to do.

“He was going to do the Spider-Man franchise, he was going to do a really great script about multiple personality disorder. Avatar, to me, was the third favorite. I read it and felt, ‘Yeah, well?’ That goes to show why I should never be making movies!”

James Cameron’s Avatar is now the top grossing film in box office history.

Next we need to know who Gale Anne Hurd will be rooting for. I'm pretty sure who's side Suzy Amis will be on though…
