Cameron Diaz will indeed join the cast of the upcoming adaptation of the cult ’60s show, The Green Hornet, as Lenore Case, “a crime specialist.”

“Lenore, yes, and I think that’s all I can tell you or else I would have to kill you,” she told MTV. “I read the whole script. I know what happens exactly, and I’m not telling you.”

On Atomic Popcorn I reported that both Diaz and Nicolas Cage were in talks for the Michael Gondry directed feature. While Diaz sounds excited about the project, Cage is still believed to be in the discussion-making process.

Cameron Diaz was recently at Comic Con in San Diego discussing her recently completed mystery-thriller The Box, based on the story from horror legend Richard Matheson (I Am Legend). She was last seen in the Nick Cassavetes film My Sister’s Keeper.

The Green Hornet debuts domestically on July 9, 2010.
