Next ‘Resident Evil’ to hit theaters in 3D

Next ‘Resident Evil’ to hit theaters in 3D

Last week we reported on the blissful news that Paul WS Anderson and his arm-candy Milla Jovovich will be fighting more of the living dead in Resident Evil: Afterlife. Now we learn that said fighting will take place in THE THIRD DIMENSION.

In an interview with horror blog Shock Till You Drop, Anderson said “I always envisioned Resident Evil as a trilogy of films.” He went on to say that the fourth entry was going on to reveal a “re-tooling and rebirth of the entire franchise”.

As if the suggestion that the Resident Evil series will be reborn wasn’t interesting, Anderson was inspired by James Cameron’s use of technology (who isn’t?) on his upcoming film Avatar, and said “we’re doing it in 3D and we’re using the same camera system as James Cameron’s Avatar.”

Get ready to dodge flying fingers and severed heads.

Resident Evil: Afterlife arrives in September 2010.
