Warner Bros. Might Pull Out Stops, Make ‘Titans’ 3D
‘Avatar’ Success Story Might Mean ‘Clash of the Titans’ Goes 3D

Is 3D technology really so easy to implement that Warner Bros. might be able to just reformat Clash of the Titans for 3D theaters before its scheduled release on March 26? Just like that?
Despite director Louis Leterrier’s insistence that Titans won’t be in 3D, Warner Bros. is taking the next ten days before deadline to deliberate on a possible conversion to the format, after ordering some test scenes to see what the finished product would look like.
I’m sure leading man Sam Worthington feels partly responsible for the late-in-the-game drama, as it’s most certainly Avatar’s success that’s leading the studio to consider their 3D options.
This isn’t an unprecedented move — the Toy Story films were converted to 3D, and George Lucas has been talking about re-releasing the Star Wars films in the format as well (sigh). This would make two large releases in the 3D format for the month of March, along with How to Train Your Dragon. I’d say the chances of this happening are very likely.
