Director James Cameron is taking satisfaction and an obscene amount of delight in the success of his latest film Avatar. In fact, the director who comes across as a bit of an arrogant d-bag, has learned to ignore criticism and follow his own vision for his films despite the”nattering nabobs of negativity.”
“Let me put it this way,” says Cameron. “All those naysayers, the nattering nabobs of negativity, the people who were saying the movie looks bad before they’d even seen anything – you have to learn to ignore them. That’s something I learned on Titanic. But yeah, it’s satisfying that I was able to prove them all wrong.”
Cameron, who won best director along with best drama for Avatar at the 67th Annual Golden Globes, says he made a fool of himself when he won an Oscar for Titanic in 1998.
“After jumping up and making a fool of myself with my acceptance speech [for Titanic], I’m sure nobody wants to see me at the Academy Awards again,” he said.
“Or maybe they want me to win again to see if I can make an even bigger fool of myself.”

Comes across as an arrogant douchebag? For what….having belief, a vision, self confidence and not listening to pessimistic a-holes who go about the place wanting other people to fail miserably so they can say "told you so" and gloat? Actually, he comes across as a gentleman….a gentleman who has brought untold thousands/millions of people happiness and joy through his craft. A craft that he brings on leaps and bounds with every new movie, and learns skills he then gladly passes on and helps others in the industry create yet more joy to be had in cinemas the world over during a time of recession and depression. Yeah, a real douchebag!
Get a life, you idiot.
