Steven Seagal & Lindsay Lohan

Anytime I see a bit of news regarding Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming feature, Machete, I need to change my pants. Especially if Lindsay Lohan and Steven Seagal are involved.

Well, maybe just Lohan.

Rodriguez is sending the script to just about everybody that has a pulse, boobs and used to be a big action star yet those who have actually signed onto the production have been scarce.

“We’ve cast nobody but Danny [Trejo] and Michelle Rodriguez, but we’ve sent the script out to a lot of people,” Rodriguez recently told MTV. “There are a lot of people we’re sending it to, big names – but nobody that we’ve signed yet.”

Early last week, I reported that Jonah Hill and Robert De Niro were reviewing the script but nothing has been confirmed…yet. Now we’ve learned that the man behind Sin City and From Dusk Till Dawn is interested in the troublesome, yet surprisingly buxom, starlet Lindsay Lohan and the former prince of chop, Steven Seagal.

“Lindsay’s cool. There’s actually a cool part in the movie for her — if she takes it,” Rodriguez went on to say.

If the part has her playing a stripper again (Rose McGowan style), count me sorta in.

Moviehole learned that Steven Seagal (Under Siege, Out for Justice) may be interested in the film though it depends on certain “conditions.” What those conditions may be are still unknown, but let’s be honest, it’s money and how this role may fit into Seagal’s triumphant return to the B-list.

Seagal, who hasn’t had much a career since Under Siege 2, shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Though the fact that this anywhere close to some semblance of actual movie news is an indication that Seagal, despite his many, MANY direct-to-DVD films, still has some drawing power.
