rl_selenagFormer Barney kid Selena Gomez can’t resist Googling herself (“Googling” as in searching for your name online, perverts!) and thanks to all the “hurtful” comments, the 17-year-old is going to quit the Internet cold-turkey.

That’s right. No more Internet ever, ever.

The Wizards of Waverly Place star recently stated that she will no longer upload video messages to YouTube due to trollish remarks and hacking attempts made on her account.

“I’ve given up the Internet,” says Gomez. “I don’t read comments, and I don’t go on any of the sites anymore, and I just feel better.”

Gomez went on to comment on the Internet-wide behavior of some “commentors” who feel they can say whatever they want behind a curtain of anonymity.

She added: “And it’s not about being a celebrity – you get on MySpace, Facebook, there’s all these different outlets where people can just feel like nobody’s watching them so they can just say whatever they want to say, and that gets dangerous sometimes.”

Here are some gems from Selena Gomez’s YouTube channel:

“i love movie

I love selena and you will now know that this knowledge has many fans will not care about a more even more so not to speak canço I love you too and you’ll always is in my heart”

“u awesome plz be my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“please add me i send you mess”

“selena i think your really cute and your the best ever my cell is 7316322 plzz call mee”

“She – not shoe!”
