Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher get Engaged After One Year of Dating
Does anyone understand how people that have only dated for one year or less decide to get engaged, because that’s what Carrie Underwood and her now fiance Mike Fisher have decided to do says UsWeekly.
The Ottawa Senators hockey player confirmed the news during a press conference this morning saying, “It’s true. We’re both obviously excited and very happy.”
I seriously hope their marriage works out but come on, one year is not enough time to really get to know someone.

Honestly, I think a year is a good amount of time to get to know someone before deciding on marriage. Plus, they have the time that they'll be planning the wedding to be together, which is usually between 8 months and a year. So they'd really know each other for 2 years when they got married? I'm really happy for them, and you can really see how much they love each other.
I am really happy for both of them, a year is OK they really love each other so that what counts. I was engaged 6 months after going out with my husband and six months later married, we have been married 38 years that says it all. You don't have to go out with someone very long to know he/she is the one.

@Melody and Jeannette -I guess you can call me old fashion but I'll always stick to my 4-5 year rule. What we must remember is that these people are celebrities. Between their busy schedules how often do you think they've even spent time with each other in that one year?

Besides you can be aquainted and even married to someone for many years and never know them ie: Tiger Woods.
Im excited for them both, I think they both really love each other, and in all the interviews they explain nothing but love towards each other. I am a hugh Carrie Underwood fan, so if she's happy, so am I. Congratulations Carrie and Mike!!!!!!!!!
I knew after 3 months that I'd be with my husband forever. 16 years later and we're still crazy in love.
I knew my husband for 9 months and we were married. We've been happily married for 19 years now. They both have demanding schedules, but so did we and we survived. There is no reason that they could not.

I don't see a problem getting engaged over a years time but there is a huge difference in getting engaged when you see each other everyday and actually spend alot of time together. They have both said they don't see each other very much so it makes me wonder how many times they have actually seen each other within this last year? Also, Carrie said on Ellen this was her longest relationship. I wish them both the best but I honestly dont see it lasting.
i Think that Carrie Underwood, is one of the smartest, most gorgeous women in the industry today. She seems like she really knows what she wants in a relationship, and her music and general life. I think they will be very happy. I have noticed the biggest difference in Carrie this past year. She has matured into a women, she is even better singing than ever with her new CD Play On, and she is comfortable and confident with herself. This, I feel is attributed to her love for Mike Fisher. I think they are perfect for each other. They are both good Christian people with good moral values. That alone, will build a great marriage.
I married 10 yrs ago to someone 8 yrs younger than I we have no kids together but combinded we have 7 and 6 grandkids. I married him 2 weeks after we met sometimes you just know it is the right one. I have to say the past ten yrs have been like a dream full of love and learning and I would not trade it for the world

My husband and I also had had only known each other other for 11 months before getting engaged. Doesnt mean they have to get married tomorrow. By the time i got married I had been with my now husband for 2 1/ 2 years. I dont see anything wrong with this!
