New poster for Kristen Stewart’s ‘The Runaways’ lands online: Does it suck?
New poster for ‘The Runaways’ hits interwebs
The poster for Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning’s new rock biopic, The Runaways, is making its way on online, giving viewers their first look at guitars and legs.
Written and directed by Floria Sigismondi, The Runaways is based on the ’70s all-girl rock band of the same name, which were brought together in late 1975 by impresario Kim Fowley. Along with Stewart as Joan Jett and Fanning as Cherrie Currie, Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween ‘07, H2: Halloween 2) plays Lita Ford.
In an interview with Empire, Stewart revealed relief on being able to talk about her movie project. Something we she never allowed to do with her Twilight films. “It’s so exciting that I can even talk about it now, because I haven’t been allowed to for a really long time.”
She adds: “It’s about the forming and death of this band [The Runaways], and it launched Joan Jett’s career and she became the icon for females in rock and roll,” she shared. “It’s an absolutely insane concept for me to even think that I’m going to play her, but apparently I got the job so I’m going to give it all I’ve got.”
The poster doesn’t provide a release date, merely saying that The Runaways will be released on 2010.
So what do you think? Does the poster suck or is it art? Should we see Stewart, Fanning and Taylor-Compton dressed like Adam Lambert or is it minimalist cool just to have a red poster with guitars?
