‘A Couple of Dicks’ changes its name
You just can’t keep a good dick down.
Kevin Smith’s upcoming comedy A Couple of Dicks, starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan, has worried Warner Bros. since the project title was announced and any sensible person can understand why, despite the word “dicks” being used as slang for detectives.
We under the wink and so does Warner Bros.
For Warner, the A Couple of Dicks title would have been a hardship for the distributor to market so Smith, being the swell guy that he is, has chosen a brand new title.
“The Movie Formerly Known as A Couple of Dicks has finally settled on a replacement title,” said Smith on his official site NewsAskew. “While we’ll always have Dicks in our hearts, the title we just now locked makes me smile on a bunch of different levels – including this 1: we can now advertise our movie properly (& ironically). And said marketing begins… on every print of Sherlock Holmes, Christmas Day!”
Warner will announce the title this week so fans won’t have to wait until Christmas Day for the release of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes.
Kevin Smith’s film will arrive on February 26th.
