Josh Brolin in ‘Men in Black 3′?

Men in Black Sequel Looking for a New Lead

It’s not a question that Josh Brolin’s career has exploded big time in the wake of No Country for Old Men, but is the man right for family fare like Men in Black 3?

That’s the question of the day, as Brolin’s name is being tossed about as a potential lead for the third science fiction comedy film. The film was announced to be in progress back in April, with Tropic Thunder writer Etan Cohen on board to craft a script.

While I love Brolin as an actor, I think he’d be more appropriately cast as a villain — his personality doesn’t strike me as a bubbly counterpart to Will Smith’s goofiness. We also don’t know if Tommy Lee Jones is officially out of the picture or not. Some have claimed that Brolin would be playing a younger version of Jones’ character, which could be interesting.

As long as they don’t recreate the first film’s dynamic with this sequel as they did with the second one (guy trains other guy who refuses to believe his eyes), I’m on board.

What do you think about Brolin in the lead? Let us know in the comments!
