Controversial director Eli Roth recently chatted about his next project, the upcoming sci-fi feature Endangered Species.
The Hostel and Cabin Fever director said that Endangered Species will be “along the lines of Transformers or Cloverfield,” only more “science fiction-based and with lots of chaos and mass destruction.”
Playing coy with details, Roth said that his new film will be set against an urban backdrop that will be destroyed by “something.” No word on what that something is.
Roth recently sought advice from two of Hollywood’s most prominent directors: Michael Bay and Quentin Tarantino.
“Quentin actually loved the draft and had some really great suggestions, so I’m tweaking the script,” Roth said on his recently completed screenplay. “And I’m working out some visual effects tests, which is going to determine how I shoot it.”
He added: “I actually saw Michael Bay the other night and I talked to him for half an hour about how much he inspired me to destroy things.”
