Hot stuff Angelina Jolie has dethroned left-wing talk-show host Oprah Winfrey by becoming the world’s most powerful celebrity by simply having her picture taken a lot and cashing in her kids.
Though Oprah is still the biggest money-maker with $275 million, the 34-year-old Jolie captured the No.1 spot due to a combination of earning power and exposure. In the annual list presented by Forbes magazine, Jolie, whose human rights work along with a poop load of photos of her and hubby Brad Pitt, made $27 million in the past year including $14 million for a magazine deal which gave exclusive rights of the couple’s twins, Know Leaon and Vivienne Marcheline.
Joli recently completed work on her latest project, the spy film Salt.
It’s due out July 23rd.

\”Cashing in\” due to the bidding war between People and OK! magazine for the rights to publish the first photos of Jolie and Pitt's twins. The bidding ranged around the $14-$15 million mark and proceeds went to charity. Yeah…in retrospect, the only ones really cashing in were the good people at People.
Oprah was called a \”left-wing\” talk show host because during the run up to the U.S. presidential election last November, Oprah as an early and avid supporter of Barack Obama. Also, in mainstream news, conservative pundits are traditionally called \”ring-wing talk show hosts\” when progressive parties are usually called just \”talk show hosts.\”
Oprah is not a political pundit ,darling and definately not left wing,maybe liberal capitalist ,and so what if she supported Obama ,so did many independant and some republican voters.And if AJ did not sell the pics all those magazines would have made millions without penny for charity,so I realy don't get your comments.I am pretty sure that if her kids were all white and not adopted from different countries the world will be much kinder to AJ,but we live in pretty racist country so thats OK.Like one popular conservative pundit said"slavery had its merits"and yes I wouldn't call that a talk show host.

Look over what I wrote in my comments. I didn't say Oprah was a political pundit though getting into politics as she did by admittedly supporting and stumping for Omaba, she does enter that arena. There's nothing wrong with that. I never said there was.
\”Left wing\” is a big tent and you're right, many independents and moderate conservatives supported Obama. You said \”so what\” if she supported Obama and I agree. What's your point in mentioning that?
People magazine wouldn't have landed a pictorial spread of her twins without Jolie and Pitt. They would have just had candid photographs. I had a retrospect in my other comment about this. You should read it.
It's interesting that you brought the ethnicity of her kids into this and proceed to make a comment regarding race relations in the United States without it ever being brought up. Why? You even go so far as to quoting the infamous \”merits\” line that was attributed to Rush Limbaugh, which we now know was something he never said. Again, why?

Yes, I called Oprah a \”left-wing\” talk show host. If your definition of \”left wing\” doesn't meet mine, that's cool. For me, anybody who is on the American left side of politics, including \”liberal capitalist,\” is on the left and is part of the \”left wing.\” What's the problem, Rada? Why are you so offended by my calling her this? Is there something wrong with her being a \”left winger?\” I always thought of her a moderate progressive, which, to me, is part of the \”left wing.\”

Forbes' criteria stated that money, along with presence in the media including photographs and articles, is what made her No.1 on the list. Personally, I don't find her powerful one bit and Oprah is much more influential. I'd love to know your ideas since you seem so keen on bashing mine. Why is Angelina Jolie so powerful to you?
