rl_assas2Game-maker Ubisoft has recently announced that Assassin’s Creed II will receive downloadable content contrary rumors in online gaming forums.

Battle of Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities will debut in January and February of 2010. No word from Ubisoft on other release details but rumors indicate that the content will take place between the multiple missing sequences in the popular game.

Assassin’s Creed II was released in November as has experienced great success despite competeing with other strong games such as Left 4 Dead 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Ubisoft also revealed that the sequel to 2007′s Assasin’s Creed sold a whopping 1.6 million copies internationally in its first week. That’s a 32 percent jump from the original.
