Sam Worthington expects to work on ‘Avatar’ trilogy until he’s dead
Worthington to star in two more Avatar films
Australian actor Sam Worthington will be hanging around the green screen for a while.
Worthington plans to star in two sequels for the upcoming huge-budget sci-fi extravaganza Avatar from director James Cameron.
Because the shoot for Avatar was so long and extensive, the actor doesn’t expect to finish the next two films in the series until he’s an old man.
“You work 18-hour days. I was on it for 14 months. Jim’s still editing,” says Worthington. “We’ll still be filming it up to the day it’s released – probably after the movie comes out, knowing Jim! That commitment is what makes him the man he is. It’s life or death. It’s war. That’s how he approaches movies. We’re signed for a trilogy. But I think I’ll be 94 by the time it finishes, to be honest. I know Jim’s got some ideas in his big head.”
The 33-year-old also starred in one of last summer’s tragedy’s Terminator Salvation.
Avatar arrives in theaters on December 18th.

This is such fantastic news. I am very excited to hear that Cameron is attached to the sequals. It would have been such a shame if it had gone the way of Terminator.
