Mature audiences only: Robert Pattinson says ‘Eclipse’ might be rated-R
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse might be rated R
During the summer, New Moon director Chris Weitz talked how his film may appeal to guys thanks to the increase in fights scenes, something Twilight, for the most part, didn’t have. If New Moon didn’t have enough hot werewolf-on-vampire action or the Volturi kicking Edward’s arse, then maybe Eclipse will do the trick?
Twilight superstar Robert Pattinson recently spoke about the third installment in the Twilight Saga and how it’s a “massively different movie” from the previous two entries.
The 23-year-old went on to say that due to the film’s fight sequences, Eclipse might be rated R.
“It’s a massively different movie to New Moon,” Pattinson said. “There’s so many more main parts, and having these huge battle sequences, I’ve never done anything like it in any of the other movies. “I think it’s really pushing the – I don’t know what rating Twilight was in England, like the American PG-13 or 18 – I think it’s pushing it to the absolute limit. It would be so funny if it was R-rated.”
New Moon grossed almost $73 million during its opening-day at the box office on Friday, easily beating The Dark Knight, which was the previous record holder with a bit over $67 million.
