‘Underworld 4′ scores a writer, still no word on Kate Beckinsale

Underworld 4 still doesn’t have a star attached (no Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, Underworld: Evolution) or Rhona Mitra (prequel Underworld: Rise of the Lycans) but it does have a writer.
Screen Gems has tapped The Shield writer John Hlavin to write the script for the fourth entry in the Underworld series. Want to know what Underworld 4 will be about? Keep waiting.
“I can tell you it’s not a prequel,” Hlavin said. “It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don’t want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements.”
The 3D project is still without a director but is still on track for a January 2011 release.
