Oprah Winfrey to Bid Farewell in 2011

After 25 Seasons, Oprah Will Finally Go Off the Air

oprah-winfrey1Whether you love her or hate her, you have to credit Oprah Winfrey with having staying power.

For 25 years, fans have looked to the talk show queen for advice on everything from relationships to finding the perfect jeans for your body.

We’ve seen Oprah interact with talents of all sorts, from 12 year old singers with booming voices eager to show their talent, to established actors who turned her couch into a trampoline.

Over the years, viewers have both laughed and cried with Oprah, related to her weight fluctuations that made the billionaire seem just like anybody else, and followed her relationship with Stedman as if they personally knew the pair.

Now, after all of that, Oprah is finally saying farewell.

A spokesperson for Oprah recently announced that The Oprah Winfrey Show will see its last episode on September 9, 2011.

Although fans of Oprah will no longer be able to tune in to see the long-running show, don’t expect Oprah to just disappear.

Oprah already has two magazines to her name, O and O at Home, and is starting her own cable channel. She also continues to be actively involved with The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, which provides educational and leadership opportunities for girls from impoverished backgrounds in South Africa.

The television talk show circuit definitely won’t be the same without Oprah, but don’t worry, there’s still more than a year left before Oprah takes her final bow.
