Johnny Depp Takes the Cake as Sexiest Man Alive

There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Johnny Depp is a fox, even at 46 years old. According to People Magazine, though, Depp isn’t just sexy…he’s the sexiest man alive.

Depp first earned the title of People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2003, and getting that honor again this year sees him joining Brad Pitt and George Clooney in a small but elite group of men who have held the title more than once.

While we can all agree that Depp was definitely a worthy candidate for the title, his win comes as a slight surprise.

Despite starring in the summer’s hit Public Enemies and the soon to be released The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, Depp has largely been flying below the radar.

The media-shy Depp resides with his family on a private island in the Bahamas, which helps to keep him out of the public eye. Add on to this the fact that Depp has been busy working on several projects to be released in 2010, and you get a man who really hasn’t been too available for fans to drool over.

With current Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattinson constantly in the press (is he or isn’t he dating Kristen Stewart?!), he would have seemed an obvious choice, as would last year’s Sexiest Man Alive, Hugh Jackman.

But maybe the fact that he isn’t constantly in the limelight is just the thing that helped Depp to grab hold of the title.

Whatever the reason People chose Depp as their Sexiest Man Alive, the man is definitely deserving of congratulations. After all, who wouldn’t want to be known as the sexiest in existence?
