‘Silent Hill: Shattered Memories’ to arrive on the Wii in time for Christmas
New ‘Silent Hill’ game drops in December for Nintendo Wii
Mark your calendars, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will hit shelves this December for the Nintendo Wii says Konami.
Shattered Memories is a direct remake of the 1999 original with updated graphics, new context and additional content.
“Silent Hill: Shattered Memories begins just like the original as Harry Mason is searching for his daughter through the snowy streets of the haunted Silent Hill where he will encounter a cast of unique characters,” explains Konami. “However, this time, players are equipped with only a flashlight and cellphone to get story information, solve puzzles and navigate the darkness while escaping the demons that lurk among them.”
The Wii edition will feature platform-specific features that use the system’s controller.
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories will arrive for the Wii on December 8th. No word yet on a release on PSP and PS3 but an announcement is expected soon.
Editors note (11/18/09): This game is due out on PS2, not PS3. Sorry for the confusion. Let the debate on “reimagining” versues “remake” continue.

Who the hell said it is a remake?
Konami and Climax said it is a "reimagining".
Is that a joke? "Reimagining" is Madison Avenue talk for the manipulation of game buyers.
"Shattered Memories is a direct remake…" – Direct remake? Article fail!
"No word yet on a release on PSP and PS3…" – PS3? Article fail!
Is this a drive by assholing or do you care to point me towards the correct information? If I reported it wrong, tell me where and how and I'll update it.
Hey man – Konami is officially calling this a "reimagining," but I agree with your sentiments.
Also, the game is due out on PS2, not PS3.
My bad. Thanks chief. I see you already updated it.
Fantastic post, I bookmarked your site so I can visit again in the near future, Cheers
