One of Hollywood’s Sexiest Celebs Doesn’t See Herself That Way
In a recent interview, Hollywood hottie Jessica Alba declared that she doesn’t consider herself sexy.
Now, I’m sure every guy reading this would love to personally show Alba their disagreement, and every woman’s jaw just dropped as the thought, “What does she know about not feeling sexy?” came to mind.
But Alba’s insistent. “I never feel sexy…I never do, and that’s the truth,” said the actress.
When asked whether her view of herself changes during, say, a photo shoot where stylists and makeup artists stand armed and ready with the tools to make her look her absolute most stunning, Alba still maintained that, “I’m always wondering when my next break is…I want to call home and talk to my hubby or talk to my friends or check on my daughter. I’m never thinking I’m sexy.”
In a society obsessed with female body image, Alba’s comment comes as a double-edged sword.
On one hand, it’s nice to know that some of the women considered to be the most beautiful in the world are like the majority of “normal” women who also have trouble seeing themselves in such a light.
However, it’s also a crushing blow to know that Alba doesn’t see herself as sexy. If she doesn’t, even when professionally glammed-up to the max, how can non-celebrity women be expected to see themselves as beautiful?
Perhaps it’s her perception of herself in contrast to how she’s viewed by audiences, and the pressure she likely feels to uphold the image audiences see, that has led Alba to already decide that her daughter Honor should remain out of show business. Said Alba, “I definitely don’t want her to do that,” she said. “Anything but that!”
