Work begins on sequel to ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’
Script for Roger Rabbit 2 begins

Wondering what the latest goings-on are in Towntown? You may be finding out soon.
This past summer Who Framed Roger Rabbit director Robert Zemeckis told MTV that he toyed with the idea of a sequel to the 1988 film and thanks to recent advancements in technology (the original was groundbreaking for the time), his interest was actually turning into action items. He added that the follow-up will be a completely new idea.
We’re hoping that the sequel is just that: a sequel and not a “re-imagination” or reboot of the original.
That would be lame.
Recently Zemeckis told MTV again that the script for a Roger Rabbit 2 has actually being written right now. “There’s a script that’s being developed,” he said. “We’ve got the original writers that are working on it now — Seaman and Price.”
Who Framed Roger Rabbit garnered an astounding $349 million worldwide (that’s a ton in ‘88) and won three Academy Awards.
