Erase ‘Wolverine’s’ version of Deadpool, new spin-off starts over

Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool to start over despite ‘Wolverine’

On the onset of Deadpool, the upcoming spinoff of X-Men Origins: Wolverine starring Ryan Reynolds, one of the first things superhero fans are thinking is just how the Deadpool character will be used considering the changes he endured at the end of the film. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner recently chatted about this problem.

“I want to ignore the version of Deadpool that we saw in Wolverine and just start over again. Reboot it. Because this guy talks, obviously, and to muzzle him would be insane,” she said. “Wade Wilson is a guy who unfortunately gets cancer, and volunteers for a test that will give him healing powers. He is a bad ass, a wise-cracking mercenary, who will go out and kill anyone for money. But the thing about him is that, underneath it all, sometimes he’s not such a bad ass after all. Sometimes he does the right thing.”

“It’s going to be a dark, snarky, very funny movie. It’s the hardest story to tell, I think. There’s no clear cut villain – though you do have great baddies from the comic-books like Black Tom, Slayback, Blind Al and the Weasel. Blind Al is this blind woman in his house, who he abuses and mocks… it’s terrible. But you find out that she was a convict who did something terrible and he saved her from execution. So he lets her live in his house and she looks after him, but they both torture each other.”

Ryan Reynolds will begin production on Green Lantern, a popular character from Marvel’s arch-nemesis’ DC Comics and has recently picked up a script for a cross-dressing romantic comedy.

Donner parted with a tidbit about Deadpool’s current status: “We’re right in the thick of talking to writers right now, and hopefully by November we’ll have decided who’s going to do it.

OMG….our pleas have been listened to!!!!…….I really hope this film is very successful…..The character selection has been very good…..Weasel: Dr. Evil's son could make a good impersonation. , Slayback: Statham, Juggernaut: the one playing juggernaut the first time around should do fine….The Cat: Tony Jaa…hope your thai is good.

Greetings from a hard core fun….BTW I loved Zombieland….fresh and contemporary dialogue….to the writers….just read some of the comic books….donot stay only with wikipedia.,…although I read the article and it's pretty good…..Daniel Way has been pulling off a heckuva job at MArvel with the DP book…….you should contact him for ideas if needed……and to nail the wordage he would use ……Stick to the original material and you should do fine…..It worked fine for the "300" movie squad…..cheers..
