Production of ‘Green Lantern’ leaves Australia

Thanks to falling American dollar, ‘Green Lantern’ leaves Oz

Thanks to economic reasons, Warner Bros. will be pulling production of Green Lantern out of Australia.

“Due to the current global economic situation, including fluctuations in currency valuation and overall costs. We have also had to reassess film projects in other countries as well. After working closely with our partners at the NSW Film and Television Office (Screen NSW) and examining every scenario, we have decided to move the production of Green Lantern.”

Production on the first big-screen adaptation of the famed intergalactic cop from DC Comics will be moved to either Canada (where else?) or Mexico (oh).

Despite the momentary set-back, Green Lantern still remains on target for a summer of 2011 release.
