Sam Raimi launches thriller line of movies for families
‘The Substitue’ to become the first release from Sam Raimi’s Spooky Pictures
Horror master Sam Raimi is getting into the family business.
Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures have recently launched Spooky Picutres, a production banner focusing on family-friendly thrillers.
The Substitute will be the banner’s debut film. A remake of a Danish thriller and directed by Scott Derrickson (The Day the Earth Stood Still), the film will focus on a scared 6th-grade class who tries to convicnce their parents that their teacher is, in fact, a scary, scary alien.
Raimi and Rob Tapert (The Grudge, 30 Days of Night) will serve as producers.
