Kato casting problems (check) Nicolas Cage withdraws from project (check) stunt driver smashes car into a police cruiser with a cop inside (check) and just when you think the troubled production of Seth Rogen’s The Green Hornet couldn’t get any wackier, the LAPD bomb squad was called onto the set thanks to an unidentified metal object.

The LAPD used a remote-controlled robot to blow up the mysterious metal thingy which, thankfully, did not turn out to be bomb.

“The object was actually a manifestation of general disinterest from fans,” said Sgt. Yorgi DuCrest. “We saw the same thing on the set of Jennifer’s Body. Actually there, instead of a metal object, the disinterest actually became a Megan Fox photoshoot. Sure, we watched for a bit but ultimately we had to blow the b*tch up.”

The Green Hornet is STILL looking to arrive on theaters on December 17, 2010.
