Fans too high to care: Production of ‘Halloween 3D’ stopped
‘Halloween 3D’ moves its release
“Slow down,” says Dimension boss Bob Weinstein regarding the production of Halloween 3D. Though H3D scribe Todd Farmer just turned in his script for the upcoming slasher flick, Weinstein feels that production is moving too fast and wants to wait until the newly minted director, Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3D), has enough time to spend on the film.
Earlier this month, Lussier signed on take the helm of the third entry in the Halloween series. Production was supposed to begin in November but may be delayed thanks to his involvement in the Nicolas Cage feature Drive Angry.
Because of the slow-down, Halloween 3D will move from October 2010 to a release sometime in 2011.
“I can wait for Halloween 3D,” said longtime fan, Dallas McGrogue when told of the delay. “I want Dimension to take their sweet, sweet time with it. The film should show the earnest quality that Zombie presented with his first two films which endeared the original Halloween fans to the new series….do you have any weed?”
We reported that The Weinstein Company announced intentions to move on with another reboot of the Michael Myers franchise despite Halloween and Halloween 2 director Rob Zombie making it clear he will not return for a third entry.
A search began to find a director who could bring a fresh look to the series after Halloween 2’s opened with a strong $16 million domestically.
