Bored-to-death Neve Campbell returns to horror with ‘Scream 4′
The cast for ‘Scream 4′ grows
Neve Campbell will be joining her Scream costars, David Arquette and Courteney Cox, on Scream 4.
Rumors were spreading earlier this year that Campbell, who starred as Sidney Prescott, the main sucker from Scream, Scream 2, When Will I Be Loved and Scream 3, will return to the role that made her a smidgen more famous than when she was just on Party of Five.
Her schedule has freed up since the cancellation of her NBC summer show, The Philanthropist.
Earlier this summer, screenwriter Kevin Williamson suggested that Campbell had said “F*cketh no” for a fourth go on Scream and posted the following on his Twitter page:
Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario. She won’t do it. This sucks. #overdonemovies
Wes Craven is reportedly in talks to helm the project but is awaiting Williamson’s script.
The next film, which is looked on to be a full-reboot of the series, will feature a “younger” cast that will provide the franchise with extra cash after the old fogies bite it.
Production on Scream 4 is slated for summer 2010.
