They made all the creative decisions. All of them. There was nothing Bob Gosse could do to save the movie. Tucker gave the actors line-readings, he told how everything was supposed to be shot... look into how the movie was produced, there's a production blog (ihopetheyservebeerinhell.com) and tons of videos on youtube.
