Clearly James Cameron has caught the 3D bug. On the heels of news that Cameron’s 1997 Oscar-winning love story, Titanic, will be given the 3D treatment, we know that audiences may see another favorite from the past in the third dimension: Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
According to Lightstorm Entertainment, Cameron’s production company, a testing phase has already been completed on the film. “We are certainly interested in exploring the opportunity to re-release some of Lightstorm’s past films in 3D,” Lightstorm partner Jon Landau said. “I don’t think it’s too far into the future. We’re pretty far down the road.”
Terminator 2 revolved around a boy and his mother, along with the boy’s robot best friend as they travel around trying to save the future from an attack by a rogue computer. It’s a lot cooler than it sounds…
The film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger who returned to the iconic role after his success in the 1984 film The Terminator. T2 also starred Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong and Robert Patrick.
