Never underestimate the golden power of friendship especially when zombies threaten to rip your throat out.

Heroes hot stuff Ali Larter and Prison Break star Wentworth Miller have joined the cast of Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Boris Kodjoe, who was recently cast in the film and is currently doing a promotional tour of Surrogates, told Blackfilm about a key plot-line in the film: how Milla Jovovich’s Alice, comes into contact with one the movie’s attractive new stars.

“I play the leader of the survivors in Los Angeles. Milla Jovovich’s character, Alice, is roaming the world looking for survivors and she’s wound up in LA, which has been burning for three years. She comes across an LA jail surrounded be these half-dead with a couple of survivors trapped inside. She lands on top of the roof and partners up with me to fight the guys that are coming after them. We’re trying to get all of the survivors out of the jail to safety.”

Larter reprises her role as Claire Refield (I thought she died in Extinction…) while Miller plays one of the poor SOBs trapped in the building.

Resident Evil: Afterlife, the fourth entry in the franchise, starts filming this month in Toronto with an expected release of August 27, 2010.
