Director Peter Berg confirmed the long-rumored Hancock sequel in an interview with MTV. “Everybody’s going to come back for a sequel,” Berg said when asked if Charlize Theron and Will Smith will be returning to for a second round.

The twosome played immortal gods who become physically weakened if they are around each other. In the first film, Hancock (Will Smith) played a down-and-out superhero who was scorned by society thanks to his city-destroying antics.

A few weeks ago Berg spoke with SciFi Wire about what the sequel would look like. “There might be another god out there,” Berg said. “Might be another one.” The director has now stated that this new all-powerful god will be played by a “very well-known actor.” When pressed for answers, Berg said, “We have someone in mind. I’m not gonna tell you who, but we have!”

Hancock was released in 2008 and grossed over $628 million worldwide.
