Blu-ray News: Terminator Salvation finally announced
T4 Lands on Blu-ray and DVD
After seemingly waiting until every single summer film was announced, Warner Home Video has finally announced that Terminator Salvation will hit shelves on December 1st coming in a 1-Disc DVD ($28.99) and a 3-Disc Blu-ray ($35.99). Features for the single disc DVD include only a Moto-Terminator featurette. The Blu-ray is ten times more fleshed out and will feature the rumored Director’s Cut of the film, the aforementioned Moto-Terminator featurette, in addition to “Reforging the Future”, a “Resist or Be Terminated” Video Archive, a Terminator Salvation Official Movie Prequel Digital Comic Issue #1, a WB Maximum Movie Mode, Focus Points, and a digital copy of the theatrical version.
Warner is starting to do something bothers me with their home video releases, and most Blu-ray/DVD-philes like me have figured it out by now; they’re cutting back on their DVD features. Now true, Blu-ray is becoming more popular and I’m a big supporter of the format, but don’t punish those who have yet to move on to the power of Blu by NOT releasing the “Director’s Cut” to them. I’m not saying stuff like “Maximum Movie Mode” should go to DVD, but don’t skimp on the features and force everyone to go shell out money they likely don’t have.
Here’s the full press release. All of this information comes via DVD Active, who always does incredible work when it comes to covering both formats:
