The Expendables is moving its U.S. theatrical release date from April 23, 2010 to summer capping August 20th. American distributor Lionsgate tweeted yesterday with: “EXPENDABLES arrive 8/20/10″. Expendables will now arrive one week before the Paul W.S. Anderson’s latest zombie entry, Resident Evil: Afterlife, making its debut on August 27th.

The Expendables revolves around a group of mercenaries who attempt to overthrow a South American dictator. Along with the film’s writer and director, Sylvester Stallone, the extravaganza stars Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
