Grindhouse hot stuff Rose McGowan gave an update on the beleaguered and nearly disbanded Robert Rodriguez production of Red Sonja via her Twitter account.
“Just this once i’ll address questions about Red Sonja&others;i was meant to do in ‘08,” she typed. “Major personal &private;reasons I pulled out.Starting 2 want to work again. Sometimes real life f*cking sucks.That’s all. God bless us survivors.”
So is Red Sonja dead? McGowan followed up her original sentiments and said, ‘“To clarify press reports: Red Sonja is delayed. I pulled out of doing it in ‘09. Not permanently.Hopefully will follow Conan.”
Two months ago, producer Joe Gatta said the Red Sonja project was delayed due to the economy.
The reboot of Conan will be helmed by Friday the 13th director Marcus Nispel after Brett Ratner walked away from the project in June. The film is expected to arrive in theaters in 2010.
