Director Chris Columbus (Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief, Home Alone) has reportedly been offered the opportunity to direct the “new and improved” Superman movie.
Insiders at Warner Bros. consider the “kids director” to be “the right fit” to take the reigns of the beleaguered franchise.
According to Superman Homepage, an “offer has been sent out to Chris Columbus to direct the 3D Superman reboot for December 2012″.
The next Superman movie will be written by Jumper scribe David Goyer and produced by Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception).
“David Goyer really wanted to direct but nobody from either studio
think he’s good in that arena,” says the super mysterious source. “He’s great at coming up with story and ideas, like George Lucas. It’s his
execution where he’s weak, which is why people like Chris and Jonathan Nolan and Guillermo Del Toro have had the best results with his scripts.”
