Don Cheadle on Thor cameo in Iron Man 2: “He eats Tony Stark”

“Thor and Hulk both make an appearance in this film. They work at a diner,” Don Cheadle recently told MTV News. “You heard it hear first. Thor is actually in the movie. He eats Tony Stark. He consumes him into his God-like belly and spews him into the world. He turns into stars actually.

“It’s a strange twist. I don’t know that they’re going to stay with it. It may not make it to the final cut, but it was cool to see filmed.”

Cheadle, who plays James Rhodes in Iron Man 2, was having a little fun with the reporter. With that said, many believe the sequel to 2008’s blockbuster Iron Man, will carry hints and even cameos of upcoming Marvel Studios properties. Most notably Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Nick Fury and more Avengers cues.

In a recent chat with Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau, clues indicated that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will be looking over maps laid out of the artic region, an area where Captain America is currently frozen in a giant slab of ice. He can also be seen looking over skematics of Caps’ sheild. This is obvilousy meant as a precusror for the upcoming Captain America film.

What about Hulk?

While Hulk star Edward Norton was mum about the issue, Downey recently ended speculation of a Hulk apperance. But as they say in Hollywood, “I need my anus bleached.” They also say, “Expect the unexpected.” Actually, I’m not sure if they say that but I’m quite certain that someone at some point said that while in Hollywood.

Footage was presented at this year’s Comic Con of Cheadle wearing a weaponized Iron Man suit, becoming the uber-cool War Machine.

Iron Man 2 is due out May 7, 2010.
